i truly dont know why i was so mesmerized by this. i spose its because its so out of the ordinary. people were talking this and that about the tags, but i thought it was awesome. when i saw it, i instantly saw it in the colors that ive pulled together hee-yah. and there were 2 tags on other signs (actually on the overpass beside this one and one on a sign heading 75/85 South just before the airport), i just wasnt able to capture those images. and now, sadly, its too late because theyve been "cleaned". so feel free to leave any comments you may have and oh yeah,

...IN AWE OF THE AWESOME POWER OF A FULLY OPERATIONAL LAH.

my niece is amazing. she is positively amazing. i just wanted to share with you her amazingness. her sense of style.. magnifique. her personality.. awesome. and shes got artistic skills.. which, you know are encouraged encouraged encouraged. youve already seen the painted face... but here are a few more images..... just to show you her flair and phenomenality.

by the way, in the top picture, where she's holding the colored pic of the little purplelastikal person (one of the KidSoup! characters), the pictures hanging on the wall in the background are pics she colored that are right beside my bed. so i sees them everymorning whenst i rise and everynight whenst i set.

she's awesome.

...CHILLIN WITH MY SISTER AFTER THE SHOW.

so after the show, she and i went and had something to eat. we wanted some thai but the good folks at the royal orchid werent answering the phone (curses!)... by the way, YESH, stephanie DOES have the number programmed in my phone. the food is THAT awesome. we ended up having cuban at la fonda. and you know, that was exactly where we were supposed to be because the weather was beautiful. we remarked on how the breeze that was so tenderly kissing us and flirting with and playing in our locs felt like a sea breeze.

it was after i took her home that we took the pics and me being stephanie (the one AND only) downloaded and altered them shortly thereafter. hope yall give the images the thumbs up.

...IN LOVE WITH TOSCA

mari and i went last weekend to see the opera Tosca. we got the tickets from my mother and my mr. sanders who actually took the Lah down to a blues festival in thompson, GA. i've not been so moved by an opera, EVER. i cried. i applauded ~enthusiastically AND whole-heartedly. i bravoed. i think i mighta even whistled... yeah. i did... but i wasnt the only one (psh. i wouldnt have whistled at the opera if i was the only one whistlin').



it gave me and my baby sis an opportunity to spend some time, get dressed up and experience something together that we'd never done. isnt my sister beautiful? :-) yeah. i know. shes the bomb diggidy as blueMari or phoenixMari. shes fabulous.

...ALTERED

...HAVING FUN fONktiFYinG THESE IMAGES.

the thing is, if i had a model... a personal model that i could say, "here, model, i need to capture this image...get over here, chop-chop", then i wouldn't be the one in the pics likey dis. i get an idea, right? and i end up taking the photo of myself, then altering the image. but the cool side of it is that whereas i never thought i was particularly photogenic before, i'm learning and seeing that i'm not half bad ~ as far as being in front of the camera. :-) marrahfak, i look kinda hot.

so this has become my thing as of late... altering and using color to create a feeling of otherness. you know... i've always been attracted to colors on people. don't know of a less elementary way to say it. for instance, i was always drawn to a certain pic of my mother. it's an absolutely beautiful pic of her.... my father had painted these flowers on her. and she just looked so lovely...rocking the angelaDavis fro, glasses, her dress was draped over her ~ and the flowers were stunning... everything about that image made a positive permanent impact on the young padowan known as stephanie. and ever since, the idea of painting on bodies and faces has always appealed to me. not only can you create incredible visuals from using people as canvases, but there's also a sensuality to it. that's the aspect that i realized later in life... the sensual side. but that's a whooooooooole nutha story altogether.........

i shall just end with this: each season, i learn more about the things that interest me. the images and visuals i'm drawn to... and want to create. writing, illustrating, symbolism, garment design, henna tatooing... now, im playing with andywarholing and fONKtifying :-) and this only the beginning.

i'm shoal izz excited to see what's next....

okay... i posted a message with regard to where the following pics came from.... but sadly, i shoulda posted it NOW, because obviously, now the messages are backwards. duh, stephanie. anyway, check out the images, then you can read from within, how they came to be. it's really not a vain thing... or is it?.... it's just me playing with color and the computer and being fascinated with faces and images........ can you dig that? anyways.... much love to y'all. hope the following pics give you something to say, "oooh.. that's pretty cool" about.

...ONE WHO SEES IN MANY COLORS.

so, it goes like this...

stephanie was sitting home bored one day. she decided to see how photogenic she was. so she took a whole bunch of pictures, then downloaded them at work the next day while the man that she worked with was out of town. :-)

after the download, she began playing with a program that allowed her to alter the images or rather to create many "stephanie in the sky with diamonds" effects.

these are the results of stephanie's playtime.

...A BELIEVER IN LOVE.

ONCE UPON A TIME.....

the Sun and the Moon met in the Heavens.
and they found peace and love in each Others heat and cool.
in light and darkness.
and there was a balance for them.
the Sun radiated a fiery golden comforting warmth, while
the Moon displayed blue sparkling intense cool.
there was a conscious appreciation for the Others
very existence.
and they so loved each Other
that they brought the gift of Life to this Earth.
the Life was placed in the waters and on the lands.
the Life was given strengths and challenges.
but Parent-Guides Sun and Moon expressed Love
with softness and gratitude.
by kissing and shining and caressing and glowing upon Life
all the days of Life's existence.
and any morning or night the Sun or Moon were absent,
Life was aware and confident
that the missing parent
was with their Love.
And Life knew that at the end of the longest day,
Guide-Parents Sun and Moon
would be waiting with Openess
when Ascended Life

returned Home

to share with that new Life

all the beauty

of

this

UNIVERSE.
